Biography

His name has been spelled in many ways: The ship to America lists his name as: Percivall Greene (and his wife as Ellin). The Freeman’s oath lists him as: Passevell Greene. The town records list him as: Perceiveall The church records list him as: Persevill. [1]

Percival Green who at age thirty two years, came to New England with his wife Ellen/Elinor, also age 32, and two servants aboard the Susan and Ellen arriving in April, 1635. [2] [3] [4] [5]

1636: February: Percival Green and Mrs. Ellen Green, admitted to membership at the First Congregational Church, Cambridge, by Rev. Thomas Shepard. [6]

On December 25, 1639 Percival Green died at Cambridge, Massachusetts. [3] [4] [7]

His widow Ellen married Thomas Fox on May 24, 1650 as his second wife. [3] [4] [5]

Ellen died at Cambridge in May, 1682 in consequence of a fall, aged 82. [3] [4] [7]
