Biography
Edward Mitchelson who was of Cambridge, MA in 1637, [1] [2], married Ruth Bushnell who arrived in New England on the Abigail in 1635, coming from London. [3][4]
On Nov. 20, 1637, he was appointed Marshall of the Court at Newetowne (now Cambridge). [5] He apparently held this position for many years.
Ruth died at Cambridge on June 15, 1654. [2]
Edward died there on Mar. 7, 1681 at the age of 77. [2][6][7] He is buried in the Old Burying Ground at Cambridge. His inscription reads: Memento Mori - Fugit Hora Here Lyes Ye Body of Edward Michelson Aged 77 years Dec'd March ye 7 1681 [8] [9]
