John Nichols

Nancy Tyler Nichols, who m. Samuel Meriam, was the dau of John(3) Nichols of Charleton. Nancy and Samuel's son, Rufus N. Meriam wrote a Meriamm Geneaology and says this about the Nichols: " Her (Nancy Tyler Nichols) gr.-gr.-father, John(1) Nichols, came from Ireland at the age of 17, probably about 1727, as he died Jan 10, 1801, aged 91; and bought a large tract of land in Oxford and what is now the south part of Charlton. He m. Hannah, dau of Capt. Jonathan Tucker, Sen., of Charlton, by whom he had two children, John (2) and Hannah (2). His will is dated May 12, 1798 and proved Mar 3, 1801.

This is another John Nichols who lived in Sutton. This John Married Lydia ? and had a child Anna I may not have the correct Johns
There was also an Alexander Nichols that was the father of John Nichols the 3rd. I need to look into this.

in Topsfield from his father in January 1678/9.
Moved from Topsfield, to Sutton, Worcester County, in 1725.

Her gt.-gr.-father, John (1) Nichols, came from Ireland at the age of 17, probably about 1727, as he d. Jan 10, 1801, aged 91; and bought a large tract of land in Oxford and what is now the south part of Charlton. He m. Hannah, dau. off Capt.
