Biography

8th Greatgrandmother of USA President George Bush Sarah Goldstone was born in 1602 in Hadlow, Kent, England to John Goldstone and Frances Jefferie. She married Joseph Merriam in about 1623 in Tudeley, Kent. The couple had six children in England before emigrating to Massachusetts Bay Colony in 1638. A seventh child was born six months after his father's death in 1641. On May 19, 1641 Sarah married Lt. Joseph Wheeler. They had two children together. She died on March 12, 1669, in Concord, Massachusetts, at the age of 67, and was buried there.
"JOHN GOLDSTONE married Frances, dau. of John and Jane Jefferie of Pemburie, Kent County, England; he died and she married Thomas Diker of Tonbridge.The children of John and Frances Goldstone were :2 Robert, probably never married, as his will does not mention wife or children.3 Roger.4 Jane, m. 1st, Benjamin Johnson ; 2d, Thomas Howe.5 Sara, m. "I give & bequeath unto William, Sara, Joseph, Thomas, Elizabeth and Hannah the six children of the said Joseph Mirriam by the said Sara his now wife to either of them the like some of Six pound apeece to be paid them likewise within five yeares next after my decease."

He m 3, Frances (Watson)(Wheeler)(Cook) Greene, widow of Isaac Wheeler of Charleston, Richard Cook, then of Thomas Greene of Malden. He was called Lieutenant. He was alive in 1681, aged 71.[3]
