Jackson remained on his family farm in Buffalo twp Scott Co, IA until 1859 when he went to California for twn years in mining. He returned to Scott Co, Iowa 1 Jan 1870 and started farming in Buffalo Twp. He married Irene Edwards. They moved to Rock Island County, Ill where he died 30 Jan 1890.
