Eben p 160 says that Silas' grandfather, Jonathan Putnam, son of Deacon Elisha Putnam and Susanna Fuller, was "carried to Sutton by his father, and lived there always. He built a grist mill which the Sutton Cranberry Company late owned. This property with the water privilege descended through his son, Captain Francis, to the latter's son Silas who sold it."
