Duncan Stewart

He was a Scot prisoner sent to New England by Cromwell. Put into service of George Hadley.

Duncan was born in Scotland abt 1623. In 1654 Duncan was a servant of George Hadley of Ipswich, MA. It is probable that he was a prisoner from the Battle of Worcester in England, 1651.
However some accounts say he married Anne Winchurst in England and came to America in 1647.
He was reported to be a shipbuilder in America.
in 1658 he was in Ipswich.

Duncan died 30 Aug 1717 and Anne died 9 Jul 1729

Believed him to be a military refugee for acts in favor of Charles I on 1646, or Charles II, in 1651.
