Ephraim Putnam was always known as "Danvers" Ephraim, thus distinguishing him from two others in Lyndeborough, New Hampshire, bearing the same names. He represented Lyndeborough in a convention of deputies which met in 1775, and was generally active in town affairs. In 1834, eight male Putnams, descended from him, were living in Lyndeborough.
