His will made Jan 9, 1738-9, was probated Aug 6, 1753. The legatees were wife Elizabeth, sons Joseph, and Timothy, daughters Elizabeth Putnam, Ruth Knight, Mary Fuller, and Lydia Peabody. To Timothy, who was executor, was left all his lands and meadows in Middleton and Reading, with all buildings there on. The children were born in that part of Salem which in 1728 was incorporated as Middleton.
