Henry, eldest son of John, was twice married, first to Ann Withers of Stafford County, Virginia by whom he had the following nine children: John, Peter, William, Henry, Elizabeth, Nancy, Priscilla, Hester and one whose name is not known,
On July 23, 1765, he married the widow of James Morgan, whose maiden name was Elizabeth Taylor, and the mother of seven children, by whom he had eight children: Susanna, Thomas, Richard, Margaret, Jemima, George, Michael and Joseph.

Pages 345-346, July 23, 1765...Marriage contract..between Henry Mauzy and Elizabeth Morgan. A marriage soon to take place between the parties...she grants to said Mauzy as soon as the marriage takes place, all her title to the lands of her deceased husband, James Morgan. Mauzy agrees to maintain 2 of the said Morgan's children until they arrive to full age and after the payment of all debts of said James Morgan the estate which remains to be used only by her and the six children of the said Morgan and to be equally divided between them and the said Elizabeth Morgan. And she shall claim no part of said Henry Mauzy's estate. Signed Henry Mauzy, Elizabeth Morgan Witnesses: James Craig, Elias Edmonds, Francis Bronaugh, David Welch, William Jones. Rec. In another will of Henry Connyers, June 13, 1733, he referred to his daughter Hestor Mauze' and his grandson Henry. This is the first reference to a Henry Mauze' in America. Hestor Connyers had married her cousin, the John Mauze' born in 1696, in 1720 and their first child was Henry born in 1721 and named after his grandfather, Henry Connyers. This Henry Mauze' started a long line of descendants. He first married Ann Withers November 11, 1744, secondly Elizabeth Taylor Morgan, July 23, 1765. At least 17 children were born from these unions.

In the name of God, Amen. I Henry Mauzy in the County of Fauquier, being at present but weak in body, tho' in perfect mind & memory, (I thanks be to God for the same) and calling to remembrance the Mortality of the Life, & that it is Appointed for Man once to die, do make & Ordain this my Last will and Testament in manner & for, following. Viz.
Imprimis. I recommend my Immortal Soul into the hands of Almighty God, who gave it me, trusting to be forgiven my multiplied Iniquities thro the worthy Merits of Jesus Christ, my Lord & Savoir. And as for my frail Body, I commend it to the Dust to be Interr'd in decent Christian manner at the desecration of my Executor, herein after mentioned and as touching my Temporal Estate where with the Lord has Blessed me; I give, bequeath and dispose of in manner & form following, Viz.
Secondly; I give & bequeath to my Son John Mauzy & his heirs & assignors forever two hundred acres of land in the aforesaid County, wherein he the s'd John Mauzy now lives; & one Negro-man, James, one Cow & calf and Bed & furniture, all in his possession.
Thirdly; I give & bequeath to my Son-in-law James Peters, one Negro Woman, named Milley & her increase, also one horse & saddle, & what other things I have here to for given him, now in his possession & after his death to be equally divided among his ten Children (which he had by my daughter Betty) or their representatives all which, I give to them their heirs & assignors forever.
Fourthly; I give & bequeath to my Daughter Nancy Basye & her heir's assignors forever one Negro women named Bask & her increase and what other Estate I have already given her now in her possession.
Fifthly; I give & bequeath to my son Henry Mauzy, on Negro woman named Nanny, & her increase, & what other things I have heretofore given him now in his possession; to him & his heir's & assignors forever.
Sixthly; I give & bequeath to my son Peter Mauzy & his heir's & assignors forever; on hundred acres of land, part of two hundred acres, which I purchased of Mercer in Stafford County, where on he the said Peter Mauzy lately lived; also one Negro man named Fhillis; & what other things I have heretofore, given him now in his possession.
Seventhly; I give & bequeath to my son William Mauzy, & his heir's and assignors forever; one hundred acres of land in Stafford County, whereon he the said William lately lived it being the other half of the Tract purchased of Mercer; also one Negro man named Jack; one horse which was left me on my fathers will & what other things I have here to for given him now in his possession.
Eighthly; I give & bequeath to my daughter Priscilla Rosser & her heir's and assignors, forever; One Negro woman named Jane, & her increase, two head of sheep & what other things I have heretofore given her now in her possession.
Ninthly; I give & bequeath to my son George Mauzy, & his heir's & assignors forever, two hundred & twenty acres of land in Frederick County, on the waters of Hogs Creek; also one Negro women named Charity & her increase also one Sorrell horse, now in his possession.
Tenthly; I give & bequeath to my daughter Esther Newman & her heir's & assignors forever; one Negro woman named Lettice, & one Bed & Furniture & what other things I have heretofore given her, now in her possession.
Eleventhly; I give & bequeath to my daughter Susanna Kemper and her heir's & assignors forever; One Negro women named Winney, & her increase & ten dollars Cash, & what other things, I have heretofore given her now in her possession.
Twelfthly; I lend to my beloved Wife Elizabeth Mauzy, during her Widowhood, one fifth part of the Tract of Land whereon, I now live, and afterward to be equally divided between my four sons to wit; Thomas, Richard, Michael, & Joseph Mauzy; to which four sons I also give the Remaining four fifths of the s'd Tract of land; to be equally divided amongst them and it is also my will & desire that my said four sons, Thomas, Richard and Michael & Joseph Mauzy, shall pay all my just debts out of their parts of the Estate.
Thirteenthly; I give & bequeath to my beloved Wife Elizabeth Mauzy, during her Widowhood, and to my six last Children, and to their heir's & assignors forever, the following Negro, to with, Daniel, Jerry, Cate, George, Rueben, Hannah, Ross, Killis, Philip & John; and also all the stock of horses (except two, which it is may desire should be given to my two youngest Sons, viz., Michael & Joseph) before any division takes place) cattle, sheep & hogs; also the household & kitchen; furniture & plantation utensils; to be equally divided among them, when my youngest son Joseph Mauzy shall arrive at the Age of twenty-one years and also that the part left to my said wife shall; after her decease or widowhood, be equally divided between my said last six children.
Fourteenthly, my will & desire is that if either of my for mentioned children should die without Lawful I give; that his, her or their part be equally divided among my seven last Children Surviving, or their representatives.
Lastly, I constitute, Ordain & Appoint my beloved Wife Elizabeth Mauzy, Executive, & my Son, Thomas, Richard, Michael & Joseph Mauzy Executors of this my last Will & Testament. Disannulling and Evoking all other & former Wills & Testament by one heretofore made. HENRY MAUZY, HUGUENOT MINISTER TO VIRGINIA

Henry Mauzy was a Huguenot minister who fled from France to England, upon revocation of the Edict of Nantes, 1685. He is thought to have travelled first to England, then to America, landing in Charleston, South Carolina. Moving on to Staffod County, Virginia, he was a planter. While in England he married a daughter of a Dr. Conyers. Children included John (m. Hester Foote abt 1720). John and Hester's children included Henry b 1721, John b 1723, William, b 1725, Priscilla b 1727, Peter b 1730, Elizabeth b 1734, and Jemima b 1740. This Henry b 1721 m Ann Withers of Stafford; children were John, Peter, William, Henry, Elizabeth, Nancy, Priscilla, Hester and another. Henry married again, to Elizabeth Taylor, widow of James Morgan and had Susanna, Thomas, Richard, Margaret, Jemima, George, Michael, and Joseph (later a Colonel).
Col. Joseph Mauzy was b Fauquier County Virginia, 14th of August, 1779, d near McGaheysville, Rockingham Virginia. He was county surveyor, and married Christiana Kisling, daughter of Jacob. Children were Henry, Julia, Elizabeth, Joseph, Layton, Albert Gallatin, b 9 May, 1815, d 5 January, 1851.

HENRY MAUZY, HUGUENOT MINISTER TO VIRGINIA

Henry Mauzy was a Huguenot minister who fled from France to England, upon revocation of the Edict of Nantes, 1685. He is thought to have travelled first to England, then to America, landing in Charleston, South Carolina. Moving on to Staffod County, Virginia, he was a planter. While in England he married a daughter of a Dr. Conyers. Children included John (m. Hester Foote abt 1720). John and Hester's children included Henry b 1721, John b 1723, William, b 1725, Priscilla b 1727, Peter b 1730, Elizabeth b 1734, and Jemima b 1740. This Henry b 1721 m Ann Withers of Stafford; children were John, Peter, William, Henry, Elizabeth, Nancy, Priscilla, Hester and another. Henry married again, to Elizabeth Taylor, widow of James Morgan and had Susanna, Thomas, Richard, Margaret, Jemima, George, Michael, and Joseph (later a Colonel).
Col. Joseph Mauzy was b Fauquier County Virginia, 14th of August, 1779, d near McGaheysville, Rockingham Virginia. He was county surveyor, and married Christiana Kisling, daughter of Jacob. Children were Henry, Julia, Elizabeth, Joseph, Layton, Albert Gallatin, b 9 May, 1815, d 5 January, 1851.
