Individual Details
Ernest LAFLING
(1885 - )
There is evidence to suggest that Ernest was killed in WW1 on 31st August 1917 and buried at the Tincourt cemetery.. The difficulty is that the census records has him born in Thradestone in the Hartismere district (see civil registartion for his birth) versus Somersham on his enlistment form Also Ada his wife remarried a Mr Ford in 1920 suggestinmg she was a war widow.
I have also entered him as a separate person under 1886.8.0, see here for further discussion.
There is a record that he is commemorated on the Botesdale War Memorial (Gravestone Photograhic Resource), which is just down the road from Thradestone. Most likely that he is not the 1886.8.0
