Notes from Court event: Along with Samuel Shuttleworth, William Laflin (alias Horn), described as a traveller. charged with issuing fictitious cheques A cheque drawn by Lewis Miller in favour of William Laflin was endorsed by him to pay a debt to a shopkeeper owed money by a person called Horn, with Laflin keeping the change by which the cheque exceeded the debt. It appeared that Shutleorth had previosly had an account at the London & Westminster Bank and blank cheques from his cheque book were used.Endnotes
