John MANLEY

(Abt 1630 - )

The children of John are found in the Milverton parish register. What is interesting is that half the children are listed as having a mother called Anne and the other half a mother called Agnes. The reason why I have grouped these together is because there is evidence that seems to indicate that they are all the same family and Anne is actually Agnes.
There is a will of Simon Manly of Sampford Peverell that mentions his brothers John in Milverton, William in Topsham and Nathan in Lympstone. This is circa 1730/1740 and so ties in well with Simon, John, William and Nathan all being of same parentage. Unfortunately the will which was held at Exeter Record Office appears to have been destroyed during the Blitz, however there is an extract of it which provides this information that the RO still holds
