William ALDOUS
(1522 - 4 December 1583)
William and Margaret resided in Fressingfield, where they had various properties, some or all of which William had inherited from his father Robert, who died in 1560. The inheritance included the family dwelling with adjoining lands, called Bourneys, with a portion of the home reserved for the use of Robert's widow during the remainder of her life. William also received an enclosed field, called Bardenes, and a major portion of a farm, called Cotwyns. Additionally, he inherited his father's horse mill, with stones and other appurtenances; four milk cows, and a bay mare. William's mother lived until 1576, William having provided her with the various items she needed, as stipulated in his father's will.
