The 1800 Rowan Co., NC U.S. Census, page 359, for Salisbury Township, shows the John Weighman (Wayman) household as 3 males, under 10 years; 1 male, 26-44; 1 female, under 10 years; 1 female, 10-15 years; and 1 female, 26-44.Census
The 1810 U.S. Census for Rowan Co., NC, page 256, shows the John Wayman household as 2 males under 10 years; 2 males, 10-15 years; 1 male over 45 years; 1 female under 10 years; 2 females, 16-25 years; and 1 female, 26-44 years.Probate
John Wayman died intestate. His wife, Margaret, and William Thomas were appointed administrators of his estate. They along with Thomas Tidwell and James Veach gave bond for estate.A personal property inventory was done on 3-23-1818 one day after he was buried. Items of note are: $2.00 cash, a note on Joseph Trotter who owed $1.25, a note on Polly Wayman who owed $1.00, and some of the creditors were William Twomey, 29 3/4 cents and Joseph Trotter, $1.60. The total amount owed by John Wayman's estate was about $54.00.
On 6-6-1818 Rowan Co., NC approved a one year's provision from the estate to Margaret and her family in the amount of $78.26.
On 6-13-1818 an estate sale of John Wayman's personal property brought a total of $113.62. After receiving credit for amounts owed to the estate including the payment of Polly Wayman's note by Polly Tidwell the final value was $120.49.
Margaret Wayman bought a total of $22.56 worth of household items. Which presumably was paid from the $78.26 provision she received earlier. That left her with about $100.00.
