Birth
His age is given as 56 in the 1850 Panola Co., TX Census.A relative in CA gave the birth date of 1-1-1793 to J. A. M. Robinson.
He possibly was born in Stokes Co., NC since the Patrick Towmey family was on the 1790 Census of that county.
Marriage
The marriage information is from a relative in CA and received by Julia Ann Melbern Robinson but has not been verified. The Anson Co., NC courthouse burned in 1868 and the records may have been lost.Event-Misc
He was owed 29 and 3/4 cents by the estate of John Wayman ( his father-in-law) according to the estate inventory done on 3-23-1818.Event-Misc
He bought about $4.70 worth of items including the book, "Young Man's Companion", and saddle bags from the estate sale of his father-in-law, John Wayman, on 6-13-1818.Census
The 1820 U.S. Federal Census for Rowan Co., NC, Battalions 2 and 4 (Lexington side), page 322, shows the household of William Toomey as 2 males under 10 yrs.; 1 male 26-44 yrs.; 1 female under 10 yrs.; 1 female 26-44 yrs.; and 1 male slave, under 14 yrs.Event-Misc
On 10-23-1822 Wm. Twoney (Twomey) served as bondsman for the Marriage bonds of Edmund Wayman ( probably his brother-in-law) and Elizabeth Scott. This information was found at Ancestry.com in the North Carolina marriage Bonds, 1741-1868. Original data is from "An Index to Marriage Bonds Filed in the North Carolina State Archives, Raleigh, NC.
Census
The 1830 U.S. Federal Census for Madisonville, 67th Regiment, Monroe Co., TN shows the household of William Toomy with 2 males 5-10 yrs; 1 male 10-15 yrs.; 1 male 15-20 yrs.; 1 male 20-30 yrs.; 2 females uder 5 yrs.; 1 female 5-10 yrs.; and 1 female 30-40 yrs. It is possible that the 20-30 year old male is one of the unknown sons rather than William B. Twomey since his age should be about 37.Event-Misc
