In the 1850 US Federal Census for Cass County, Texas [now Marion County,] Lucy Slayton, age 2 years, was living with her parents Sanford G. and Mary Slayton on the Sanford G. Slayton headright, about five miles from the Judge John B. Finley home.A notation in the old Slayton Family Bible indicates that she lived in Coffeeville.

Per Lawrence and Related Families, The marriage records of Marion County, Texas, show a marriage license for E.L. Lawrence and Lucie C. Slayton was recorded in Book A, page 90, on 6-29-1867, and the marriage was performed by R.W. Thompson on 7-3-1867.Death
