Glenn Shumaker, 97, of Wayne Township in Adams County, Ohio, died Sunday, February 27, 2011, at Eagle Creek Nursing Center in West Union. He was born December 22, 1913, in Cherry Fork.
He was preceded in death by parents, George and Nannie (Guthrie) Shumaker; wife, Mary Belle Shumaker; one daughter, Rose Alice Neu; two grandsons, Russell Marrs and Dale Marrs; one granddaughter, Betsy Thacker.
Glenn is survived by one son, of Wayne Township; three daughters: one of Youngsville in Adams County, two of Wayne Township and ; three sisters, Alice Prine of Sardinia, Olive Johnson of Xenia, and Rosalie Swearingen of Xenia;19 grandchildren; many great-great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was a retired farmer and a 50 year-plus member and Sunday School Teacher at Oak Grove Community Church in Tiffin Township.

The funeral service is Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at 1 p.m. at Lafferty Funeral Home in West Union. Reverend Tom Brown will officiate. The interment will be at Cherry Fork Cemetery in Cherry Fork. The visitation is from 12 until 1 p.m. on Wednesday.
