Lyle Raymond Lybbert

LYLE RAYMOND LYBBERT passed away early July 12, 2006 in the Raymond Hospital at the age of 88 years. Born January 11, 1918 in Raymond, Alberta, the youngest of seven children, he grew up in Southern Alberta and lived most of his life in this area. On December 16, 1936 he married his sweetheart, Dorothy Oler. Together they are the proud parents of six living children: Dean (Verena) Lybbert, Annette (Max) Martin, Clarke (Elaine) Lybbert, Linda (Richard) Wolfe, Ross (Pricella) Lybbert, and Philip (Vikki) Lybbert. Lyle and Dorothy have 29 grandchildren, 62 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren. They leave a legacy of love and laughter behind.
Lyle and Dorothy served in the Canada/Calgary Mission as couple missionaries for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Lyle served as a Staff Sergeant in the Canadian Army during WWII. He was a cowboy, rancher, farmer, policeman, and Government meat inspector. They lived for 20 years east of Fort Macleod near Orton while he was a meat inspector. Dorothy passed away in 1994 and Lyle married Dona Galbraith Bennett in September 1994. She passed away earlier in 2006. Lyle worked hard, lived well and happy, and leaves a great heritage to celebrate his life.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, July 15, 2006 at the Fort Macleod LDS Church at 11:00 a.m. Interment in the Orton Cemetery, Orton, AB.
