Death
https://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GRid=106364857She married John Webster in Highland Co, OH, in 1855 and had a daughter (Laura) by him in 1856. As of 3-9-2013, one tree on RootsWeb shows Amanda to have died on 23 Nov 1856 in Highland Co, OH, and another tree on RootsWeb shows her to have died Aug 1921. Neither cites any source. Given the fact that the 1856 date has a specific month and day associated with it, plus we know that John married a 2nd time in 1857, plus the fact that no Amanda Newton Webster seems to turn up in censuses or other records after 1856, I find the 1856 death date for her the more credible one. No tombstone for her in Highland Co, OH, however, is recorded in the McBrides' cemetery book. On the other hand, daughter Laura Alice Webster is not living with her remarried father in the 1860 census; where was she? Can anyone cast any light on this? Daughter Laura married Marshal/Marshall Fetterling in Highland Co and went to Kansas but does not appear to have taken a divorced mother with her, so that further lends credibility to the 1856 date of death for the mother.
