William Wayne Hays, son of Perry, states that Benjamin Hays had a son Ben Floyd. Freda Barnet, Hays researcher, stated that Benjamin had a son Ben Floyd. He was not listed with the family in the 1920 census. Also not there in 1930. He is listed as buried Gracelawn Cemetery in Van Buren. Born 1920, died 1965. Next to him is Kathryn Taylor Hays, b. 1923, d. 1946, his wife. They were married 29 Dec 1938.
In 1940, they were in Ward 2, Fort Smith.

Ben Floyd Hays of Ft. Smith, Sebastian Co ws age 20. He was born near Greenwood Junction in Oklahoma on 4 May 1921. Mrs. Ben Floyd Hays would always know his address. His employer was Basil M. Moody at the Moody Farm on Mussett Road, Ft. Smith. He was 5'6" tall, 145 lbs. Gray eyes, brown hair. Scar from boil on forehead over left eye. Says he has scar on left arm.
