An item in a book entitled 'The History of Spencer County, KY' by Mary
Frances Brown says:

'John McGee was the son of Patrick McGee, Sr. and Jane Hall McGee. Patrick
Sr. came to this part of
Kentucky from York county Pennsylvania between 1775 and 1785.
His third son, John II, married Elizabeth Froman, a Great Granddaughter
of Paul Froman and Elizabeth Hite, in 1778. They eventually settled at
Waterford. They had 15 children, some of whom were born at Waterford.'

I also have an article from the Nelson County Pioneer, Vol. 1, No. 3, Winter
of 1977. It refers to a court case that I don't really understand, but says
that a writ of error was issued from the court for the reversal of a
judgement obtained by Thomas McGee, Mary Cox and Jonathan Cox, her husband,
late McGee, Jane Cox and Isaac Cox, her husband, late Jane McGee, John B. T.
McGee, James McGee, Eliza D. McGee, Christiani McGee, Joseph L. McGee,
Robert B. McGee, Sarah McGee and Abijah McGee.
It was against a Briscoe family. I was thinking that all the McGees named
above were the children of John McGee and Elizabeth (Froman) McGee.
