Janice Sue Loftin, 79, of Van Buren passed away Thursday, Sept. 11, 2014, at her home. She was a retired real estate salesperson for Jim White Reality, a member of the Rena Road Baptist Church in Van Buren and a member of a pioneer Crawford County family. She was the Rodeo Sweetheart and out-of-town Rodeo Queen in 1951 and the Arkansas Oklahoma Rodeo Queen in 1952. She was preceded in death by her parents, Atha and Sue (Hays) Pigg; and one sister, Diane Evans.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Monday at Rena Road Baptist Church in Van Buren, officiated by the Rev. Steve Matthews and the Rev. Dan Fisher. Burial will be at U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith at a later date under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home in Van Buren.
She is survived by her husband, John Dib Loftin of the home; one daughter, Pam Fisher and her husband Dan of Yukon, Okla.; two sons, Johnny Loftin and his wife Shirley of Van Buren and Dr. Kelly Loftin and his wife Mary of Chester; one brother, Atha Lamar of Van Buren; six grandchildren, Carrie Gordon, Rachel Loftin, Sean Loftin, Jake Fisher, Rebekah Wise and Alex Loftin; and five great-grandchildren, Sharee McCawley, David McCawley, Wade McCawley, Star Kittler and Rhys Fisher.
