Wilma Usher Hays, 95, of Van Buren, Arkansas died Tuesday, July 12, 2005, in a local hospital. She was a homemaker, a member of First Baptist Church in Van Buren, Van Buren Senior Inn, Arkansas Cameo Club, Extension Homemakers Club, Order of Eastern Star and AARP. She was a mentor at Parkview Elementary, Volunteer at City Heights Elementary, 1988 Ms. Senior Western Arkansas and State Bake-Off winner in 1988 and 1993. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jim Hays; and a grandson, Anson Bartlett.
Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 16, 2005 at Van Buren First Baptist Church with burial at Forest Park Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home of Van Buren.
She is survived by three daughters, Wilma Jean, Ardia Anne, and Marilyn; six sons; 27 grandchildren; and 30 great-grandchildren.

William Usher's Rites Set Today
Van Buren, Ark., Apr. 11 - Funeral services for William J. Usher, 79, a life long residen of Crawford County, will be held at 2 pm Sunday at Shady Grove Baptist Church of which he was a member He died at a local hospital Thursday night after an illness of two weeks.
He is survived by his wife, Julia; three daughters, Mrs. Wilma Hays, Van Buren, Mrs. Bonnie Duncan, Baldwin Park, Calif., and Mrs. Ruby Oliver, Elko, Nev.; one son, Ealr, Los Nitos, Calif.; one step-daughter, Mrs. Pauline Brooks, Denver, Colo.; sone step-son, Edwin Cellwork, San Jose, Calif.; 16 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Interment will be a Sara Grove Cemetery near Cedarville, under the direction of Ocker Funeral Home.
