The 1850 census given Ezekiel as born 1822. The 1860 census indicated he was born in 1821, but the 1870 census said he was 50 that year, or born 1820. The Mortality Schedule of 1880 stated that he was 59 in Sep of 1879 when he died, or born 1821. The censuses all say he was born in Kentucky - the mortality schedule says Arkansas.

1870 Census: Jefferson Twp, Independence Co AR, p.120, Household 110. Ezekiel Brown age 50, b. KY; Mary E. age 47 b. KY; William E. age 6, b. AR. Robert L. Cargill age 13 and Mary A. Cargill age 11 also live with the Browns.
