Harmon Button served as a private in Capt. Gillison's Co. of the 10th VA Regt. commanded by Col. John Green as shown by the payroll of said Company for May 1778, in the War Dept at Washington, D. C. Copy of said payroll in the Dept of Archives of VA State Library at Richmond, VA.
Harmon Button and Sarah had 9 children who lived to adulthood. Five of the children migrated from VA to Barren Co. KY around 1800.
