Leonard Anderson

Leonard Anderson applied for his Revolutionary Pension on 1 Oct 1832 in Logan Co KY. Granville Mansfield, clergy, and William Whitsitt, swore that they believed him to be 77 as stated and that he had been a Soldier in the Revolution. After Leonard died, Rosannah applied for her widow's benefits, 25 Jan 1844. She stated whe was then 74 years of age. NARA File W8329. Their son Alexander Anderson, fifty years of age testified as to their marriage and his father's service. William Stevenson, age forty, testified; he also stated the Andersons had an older son named William Anderson, about age 52 and that they had a large family of children. Thomas Hadden of Todd County attested he was the brother of Rosannah Anderson and present at their marriage solemnized by a Baptist minister in the spring of the year 1791 and that she had not remarried since Leonard Anderson's death. This was 26 Jan 1844.
