Henry Turner

(1757 - 23 Oct 1829)

DAR record #121064 & 60700, Mrs. Margaret I. H. Campbell - William Henry Turner served in the Revolution.

The Hopkins family says that William Henry Turner married a Rachel Stoval; DAR records state William Turner's wife was Elizabeth Thurmond and several ladies have joined through a daughter Susanna and son Terry/Terisha. The file is marked that there is a problem with the lineage and cites "William H. married Isabella Hopkins, see Henry Turner". William Turner was a Private under Capt Francis Taylor, Virginia.

There is also a file for Henry Turner, not William Henry. He was an Ensign in the Amherst Militia and can also be found in the VA Public Claims as having furnished supplies during the Revolution. He applied for pension but no proof of service was furnished and the claim was rejected; his widow - Rachel Stoval - was possibly able to claim the pension.
