In the name of God, Amen. I, John Moorman of Warren County Kentucky being in a low state of health, but of sound mind and disposing memory & knowing that its appointed unto all men once to die and after death to Judgment.
Item 1st I will and bequeath unto my beloved wife, Nancy Moorman the following slaves, to wit: George, Senr, David, Dick, George Junr, Sarah, Suckey and a negro boy named Jefferson, all my stock of horses, cattle, sheep & hogs, house-hold & kitchen furniture, during her natural life. But is she should marry she is only to have one third of the above property, also the tract of Land I now live on, I will to my wife during her natural life or widowhood.
Item 2nd. I will and bequeath unto my daughter Jane one negro girl by name of Patsey & Harriet & if the said negro girl Harriet as she is afflicted should in six years die my said daughter is to receive in lieu of her two hundred Dollars also at the death of her mother I will to my said daughter my negro woman Sarah, also my riding mare (Fay) her saddle and bridle, a good bed and furniture to her and her heirs Forever.
Item 3rd. I will and bequeath to my son John R. Moorman one negro boy by the name of Ambrose together the stock he has rec'd from me, a bed and furniture now in his possession also about $300 in money paid him also a horse saddle and bridle heretofore furnished him.
Item 4th I will and bequeath to my son Thomas Moorman one negro boy by the name of Charles also a horse, saddle and bridle that he has now in his possession, a good bed and furniture, also at his mother's death I give and bequeath to him my negro man George Junr to him and his heirs forever.
Item 5th I will and bequeath to my son James Moorman a negroe girl by the name of Mary, a horse, saddle and bridle, a good bed and furniture to him and his heirs forever
Item 6th I will and bequeath unto Ann Elizabeth Moorman two negroe girls by name Judah & Lucrecy, a horse, saddle and bridle, a good bed and furniture to her and her heirs forever.
Item 7 I will & bequeath unto my son Lewis Moorman one negroe by name of Nathan, a horse, saddle and bridle, a good bed and furniture and the tract of Land whereon I now live after his mother's death unless she should marry and in that case as soon as she shall marry he shall have possession of all except his mother's dower in said land and has the privilege of building on & improving the same to him and his heirs forever.
Item 8th My will and desire is that my Executors hereinafter named shall sell for the best price they can obtain on two years credit all my other lands and the money equally divided between my sons John R. Moorman, Thomas Moorman & James Moorman.
Item 9th My wish is that all my just debts be paid out of the money now due me and that the ballance be for the benefit of my wife.
Item 10th My wish and desire is after the death of my wife that all the estate left her be equally divided between all my children before named to them and their heirs forever.
Item 11th If any of my children should die without issue my will is that the property I have given them shall be equally divided amongst their surviving brothers and sisters.
Item 12th I do hereby appoint as my Executors my confidential friends Benjamin C. Johnson and John Keel, Esqr. together my son Thomas Moorman as soon as he shall become of age who I trust will not refuse to act.
Revoking all former wills do hereby declare this my last Will and Testament. In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and affixed my Seal this 20th day of Jun 1829

The last Will and Testament of John Moorman, Dec'd was produced in Court and by the oaths of Benjamin Hampton and Josiah Wright two of the subscribing witnesses thereto to be the act and deed of said Moorman, Dec'd and ordered to record.
