Samuel Hopkins and Amy Haden were first cousin.


Emigrated to Christian Co KY. Power of Attorney 20 Mar 1835 to his son John N. Hopkins of Logan Co KY where Samuel convey interests in lots which he acquired from brother Arthur Hopkins. Six children were named claiming under the last will of Joseph Haden dec'd late of Fluvanna County. An ad placed by John N. Haden, administrator of the estate of Joseph Haden dec'd, in the Richmond Enquirer, for eight weeks in 1821, lists the seven children of Anney [or Amy] as Joseph H. Hopkins, Wm. P. Hopkins, Mary P. Hopkins, Jane R. Hopkins, Joanna J. Hopkins, John N. Hopkins, and Samuel D. Hopkins. Anney was obviously deceased - possibly one of the seven children had died by 1835.
