1920 Census: John R. age 44, Virginia age 35, and three of the children. They lived on West Third Street. The date for the 1920 census was April 1 - Algernon S. Hampton born later that month would not have been counted. Also this Ward was Enumerated on 20 Jan 1902 before he was born - a census taken this early could not have correctly represented the population as of April 1st.

1930 Census, Little Rock AR. John R. Hampton was age 53, wife Virginia was 48. George was still at home, age 22, Catherine was 18, John Jr 16 and Algernon, 10. A couple, Theophilus and Louise Robinson were living in the home as servants. Hampton's occupation was "Vice Pres, Fire Insurance". Son George was working as a Merchant.

He was an insurance executive. Father was George M. Hampton; mother was Eva Womble. Informant was his son, J. R. Hampton, Jr. of Little Rock. Died of heart disease. Buried Roselawn Memorial Park, March 10th.

John Robinson Hampton, Sr, 84, died at a Little Rock hospital yesterday.
He was a senior partner in the John R. Hampton Insurance Co. and a director of the Union National Bank.
Survivors include three sons and a daughter.
