Junius Ive Holderness registered for the World War I Draft, 5 Jun 1917. He was then age 28, living in Cumby, Texas. Born 24 Jul 1888. He was Druggist, self-employed. He was married. He signed as "J. I. Holderness". Junius was described as medium height, medium build, with gray eyes and black hair, bald.
1930 Census. Lived in Hunt Co, in Greenville. Junius was age 41, Owner of a drug store. Lula was working as a saleslady in ready to wear. Did not state their ages when married. A niece was living with them - her name difficult to read but seems to be Remal Crabb, age 24, no occupation. They also had a boarder, who was working in the drug store - George Miller, age 21.

Greenville Gets National Roque Tourney in 1941
Greenville, TX, Nov. 7. J. Ive Holderness, president of the Greenville Roque Club, has been advised by Ira Fitzgerald, secretary of the American Roque League, Inc., that this city has been chosen as the site for the 1941 national roque tournament, which will be entered by many of the nation's leading players. The tournament will be staged in August.
Each year the national roque tournament, lasting about two weeks, attracts approximately 300 persons from throughout the United States. J. D. Smith of Dallas is vice-president of the American Roque League. Dr. J. S. Cooper of Greenville is a member of the board of directors.
Wikipedia: Roque is a variant of croquet, but played on hard smooth surface. It was an Olympic sport in the 1904 Summer Games, replacing croquet.
