Carol Ann McGowen, daughter of the late William Rath and Patricia Gowins Rath, was born on July 13, 1956, in St. Louis, Missouri, and departed this life on October 7, 2021, at her residence in Puxico, Missouri, at the age of 65 years.
Mrs. McGowen was the owner and agency director of Caring Hearts Homecare. She attended the First General Baptist Church in Puxico. She enjoyed collecting antique furniture and she loved taking care of people and always put others before herself.
On February 17, 1973, in Puxico, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Bobby McGowen. Mr. McGowen survives of their home in Puxico.
In addition to her husband Bobby, she is survived by her son, Steven McGowen and wife Megan of Puxico; by her daughter, Karyn Griffin and husband Steven of Puxico; by her brother, Gene Rath of Puxico; by three sisters, Lisa Bruton of Puxico, Gina Rath of Cape Coral, Florida, and Vicki Clark of Dexter; by four grandchildren, Jakob McGowen, Brooklyn McGowen, Taylor Griffin, and Corbin McGowen; and by two great-grandchildren, nine nephews, one niece, and fifteen great nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at Mathis Funeral Home in Dexter on Monday, October 11, 2021, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Funeral services will then be conducted in the Mathis Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, October 11, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Kenneth Lambert officiating. Interment will follow in the Hobbs Chapel Cemetery.
