John C. Pilgrim of Kansas City, Kansas died Wednesday, May 22, 2002 at his residence. He was 77. Mr. Pilgrim was born June 14, 1924 at Kingdon Springs, Arkansas the son of Joseph and Carrie (King) Pilgrim. In 1945, he married Odean Dolly Luman. He was a retired assembler for General Motors in Kansas City, Kansas. He was a member of the Brenner Heights Baptist Church in Kansas City, Kansas. Survivors include his wife, Odean of Kansas City; sons, Johnny D. Pilgrim of Kansas City, Kansas and Michael Pilgrim of Wheatland, Missouri; daughters Sharon Carter and Sandra Smith both of Kansas City; sister Delphia Hadzima of Flippin, Arkansas; and several grandchildren. Graveside services were held Saturday, May 25, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at Fairview Cemetery in Flippin with Brother Paul Huskey officiating. No visitation was scheduled. Honorary pallbearers were Lucian King, Frank Hadzima, Larry Gabel and Jerry Carter. Arrangements were under the direction of Burns Funeral Home in Yellville Arkansas.
