He was a Professor of Medicine at Western Reserve Universtiy in Cleveland, Ohio and Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He graduated from the University of Texas Medical Branch as salutatorian. He was President of the Dermatological Society of Texas. He served in the Medical Corp of the Army during WWII in the European Theater. He received his commission on 10/13/1942, and was discharged 02/24/1946 with a bronze cross. He was a member of SPEBSQSA, a Houston barbershop quartet group and sang in the St Paul's Methodist Church choir.
