"Together Again"
William John Lichten, 92, died at the Orem, Utah home of his daughter Judy (Steve) Hansen on July 13, 2007. Bill was tenderly cared for by daughters, Nancy and Judy, granddaughter, Mindy and by wonderful staff and volunteers from Comfort Care Hospice. His last days were eased by visits from his daughter, Anjum, from Arizona and from grandchildren and dear friends.
Bill, with his wife Gladys, lived in Bayville, New York until his retirement. They enjoyed the beach, Long Island Sound, activity in their LDS Ward, and a succession of foster babies whom they cared for with love and joy. Bill worked for 34 years at LILCO, moving up from meter installer to management as Gas Systems Coordinator. He took pride in being self-educated and was devoted to lifelong learning.
In 1985, Bill, Gladys and Judy moved to Utah to be near daughters Anjum Malone and Nancy (Kevin) Alder. Bill was very active in Orem Senior Citizens and Golden K Kiwanis. He was devoted to his grandchildren Bryson and Steven Alder, Marisa Goodman, Greg, and Kayla Malone and Mindy Aguayo, and to great-granddaughters Hailie Aguayo and Madisyn Goodman. Bill's life was one of integrity, fidelity and service.
Bill's belief in the Gospel of Jesus Christ gave him comfort and the certainty that he was returning to the arms of his Savior and beloved family members. Among these are his wife Gladys, son Jimmy, grandson Clayton, sister Violet, his uncle Hen who helped raise him, and his parents.
