Jack Marcel Bridie was born in Des Moines, Poke County, Iowa, USA, February 28, 1922 to Jesse Claude and Mary "Louise" Guidry Bridie. He joined the Army in 1938 and served in World War II. He received two purple hearts and continued to be in the service until he had a Cerebral Hemorrhage, leaving him paralyzed, left side of his brain and right side of his body. He had many struggles and hardships to overcome, learned new skills and how to cope. Jack went to the University of Houston before working for Ceco Steel. Then he made ceramic's before manufacturing jewelry and cutting gemstones.
Jack married Sarah "Sally" Marie Meyer in Rosenberg, Fort Bend County, Texas, October 22, 1962. He and Sally made their home in Carmine, Fayette County, Texas, where they tried their hand at raising rabbits as well as Jack making jewelry.
Jack passed from this life at his home in Carmine on April 26, 2001, at age of 79 years. Jack was a confirmed Catholic for many years before affirming his faith in the Lutheran Church, October 27, 1974, at the Martin Luther Lutheran Church of Carmine by Rev. Hilmer Charles Krause, Jr.
Survivors include his wife Sally, daughters: Jewel Bridie and Husband Robert Morton Ricker, Maynora Bridie Glenn (widowed) and Grace 'Alice' Bride Granhold; sons: Ralph Allan and wife Joyce Jamelka, "Marc" Jack Marcel Bridie and wife Tammy Odneal, stepchildren: Martha Hart Jacob, Patrick Hart, Michael Hart and Dennis Hart, 20 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and extended family.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents, brother: Jesse Claude "J.C." Bridie, grandson: Johnny Dale Glenn, Jr and son-in-law: Johnny Dale Glenn Sr.
