Will of Robert Hughes.
Eldest dafter Sarah Woodson – 1 shilling sterling
Second dafter Mary Woodson – 1 shilling sterling
Third dafter Martha Woodson – 1 shilling sterling
Fourth dafter Susanna Huges – a good well furnished feather bed and a horse bridle and Saddle to the value of ten pounds and my Mullatto girl Betty & my Negro Woman Nan, the two slaves I bought of my brother Ashford and 20 pounds in cash
Fifth dafter Temperance Hughes, Negroes Hannah and Matthey and their future increase.
After Wife’s decease or marriage Temperance to have my Negro Man Londun
Land, housing & plantation whereon I now live to the sole use of my wife Martha Hughes during her natural life or widowhood and after her decease the land to the only use of my son Abraham Hughes and after his decease to the heirs of his body – in defect of such heirs, to my son Robert Hughes.
Land, housing & plantation I hold on each side the mouth of Muddy Creek to wife Martha Hughes, etc and after her decease to my son Robert Hughes.
To wife Martha, all slaves not named, all household good, livestock, all other moveable estate – after her decease to be divided between sons Abraham and Robert.Martha to be executrix ithout apparaisement or security held.
