BONNIE A. WYATT POINDEXTER STAPP, beloved wife and mother, passed away on 24 Dec 2005 in Oklahoma City. Services will be at the Mercer-Adams Funeral Home, 3925 Asbury, Bethany, Okla., on Wed., Dec. 28 at 11 a.m. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens in Edmond.
Bonnie was born in Joplin, Missouri to Mayme and Glenn Wyatt on Dec. 3, 1909. She married Jess A. Poindexter in Webb City, Mo., in 1934, and soon moved to Okla. City, where they made their home and raised their family. They had three children, Jacque, David and Judy. Jess preceded her in death in 1974. In 1977, she married James W. Stapp, who had two daughters, Suzanne and Jan, from a previous marriage. He preceded her in death in 1993.
Bonnie spent most of her time as a homemaker and loving caregiver. She attended Hills Business College in Okla. City. She was a member of the Putnam City Baptist Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Jacque and husband Robert Bailey of Duncan, Okla.; a daughter, Judy and husband Tom Smith of Woodstock, Ga.; and a son, David and wife Penney Poindexter of Okla. City. She had seven grandsons and spouses, Robert and Connie Bailey of Duncan, James and Angie Bailey of Comanche, Okla., Bryan Smith of Nashville, Tenn., Darin and Terri Smith of Gaston, Ala., Dr. Jason and Cyndi Smith of Knoxville, Tenn., Wyatt and Angie Poindexter of Okla. City, and Josh Poindexter of Durango, Colo.; four great-grandsons, Jessie Bailey of Duncan, Brayden Bailey of Comanche, Zackery and Eli Smith of Nashville; and three great-granddaughters, Angela Webb of Yukon, Bethany Bailey of Comanche, and Cassie Smith of Nashville. Other family survivors are: a brother, Gerald Wyatt of Fresno, Calif., a nephew, Max and wife Jan Hixson of Newalla, Okla., a niece, Deby and husband Hadley Howkensmith of Los Angeles, Calif.; a cousin, Opal Thorpe of Tulsa, Okla.; and two step-daughters, Suzanne Blake and Jan Robbins.
Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
