Mr. Speir was born Sep 23, 1933, in the Short community to Hubert E. Speir and Jessie Reeder Speir. He died Monday, Jul 16, 1990, in Tahlequah.
A veteran of the Korean Conflict, Mr. Speir was retired after 30 years as a school superintendent at Strang Schools, Cave Springs School and South Coffeeville Schools. He was of the Baptist faith.
He married Cora Climer, Aug 14, 1958, in Muldrow.
Survivors include his wife, Cora, of the home; two daughters, Teresa Jo Cooper of Harrison, Ark., and Kimbal Dawn Hunt of Tulsa; one son, Douglas Wayne Speir of Nowata; one brother, Bill Spier of Sallisaw; one sister, Theda Scott of Sallisaw; and one nephew.
