Obituary William T. Young, son of William R. and Caroline (Huff) Young, was born April 3, 1882, on a farm two miles south of Shubert, and passed away very suddenly at the age of 77, Tuesday, June 2, 1959.
He had taken his tractor and mower to the pasture north of the home in Stella to mow weeds. He stopped to open a gate and got back on the machine, put it in gear, then fell to the ground with a herat attack. The tractor went on and being uncontrollable went through a fence.
A neighbor, Mrs. Glen Weekley, seeing this, went to investigate and found Mr. Young where hhad fallen. Death was immediate but the tractor had not gone over him.
"Bill" Young had lived in Richardson County all his life, most of the time in and around Stella. He was keenly interested in all affairs pertaining to his home community and had served on the town council several times and was at the time of his a member of that organization. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and worked with him.
He was married to Nevda Hays Hansen, who survives him. Others left to mourn his passing are two daughters by a previous marriage, Mrs. Oscar Voegtli (Neola) of Omaha, and Mrs. Helen Dixon, Tempe, Ariz; two stepsons, George Hansen of Indiana Hills, Colo., and Jack Hansen of West Covina, Calif; three grandchildren, William and Neola Voegtil and John Dixon; one great grandchild; one brother, Howard Young of Omaha and three sisters, Mrs. Caroline McClintock, El Paso, Texas, Mrs. Minnie Demaree, Ft. Collins, Colo., and Mrs. Nettie Montgomery of Lincoln.
....Burial was in the Stella cemetery.
