RITES FOR JAMES WILLIAM DENNEY
Funeral services were helf for James William Denney, Tuesday Jan 20 at 10:30 AM in the Reed-Culver chapel with the Rev. W. M. Isaacs officiating.
He died Sunday, January 18, 1948.
He was born August 20, 1877 in Wayne county, Kentucky. He was united in marriage to Lucetta Burtram, August 27, 1899. To this union seven children were born, four of whom died in infancy. His wife preceeded him in death 16 years ago. He was united to the Baptist church several years ago at Pleasant Hill, Oklahoma.
Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Sarah McDonald of Park Hill and Mrs. Dora Davis, of Los Angeles, Calif., one son, Marshal Denney of Stroud, Okla.; his mother, Mrs. Nancy Jane Denney; two brothers, Tom and Albert Denney, of Tahlequah; three sisters, Mrs. Belle Ritter of Fayetteville, Ark., Mrs. Vadie Matthews of Arkansas, Mrs. Cora Halabough of Arkansas and 16 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Burial was in the Petitt cemetery...
