John Merywether

John received a Bachelor of Cicil Law from New College, Oxford, 20 Apr 1626. (Anyone with this degree could be appointed to a position in the Anglican Church as all studied theology.)
3 Jun 1629 - John Merywether was chosen Rector of the parish of Stratton St. Michael with St. Peter. He held this position until the Puritan Revolt in 1642.
He may have died about 1653, on board a ship on his way to join son Nicholas in Virginia.
