Cullie "Stick" Fry a member of a pioneer Rogers county family, was a former county commissioner and member of the Claremore city council. He also was a 32nd degree Mason and a member of the Christian church. Before moving to Claremore, Mr. Fry was active in church work and community activities at South Limestone and was a member of the school board there. One of nine children, Mr. Fry was a son of the late William H. Fry, who came to Claremore, Indian Territory, from Nailsworth, England, and the late Lettie Chambers Fry, member of a prominent Cherokee family in this area. Mr. Fry attended West Point Academy in Claremore and the male seminary in Tahlequah. In 1896, he married the former Irene Trout, a local school teacher who preceded him in death in 1931. He later married the former Gertie Ousley Smith
"Oklahoma Place Names": Cullie, OK, in Rogers county, 5 mi north of Catoosa. A Post Office from May 28, 1909 to July 15, 1912. No longer in existence, it was named for Cullie Fry, early day resident.
