Services Wednesday for Mrs. J. W. Adamson
Funeral services for Mrs. J. W. Adamson were scheduled for 4:00 Wednesday afternoon, September 27, 1972, in McKenzie United Methodist Church. The Rev. James Simpson of Clarksville former pastor officiating, assisted by the Rev. Dale Swain pastor. Burial was made in Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Cooper-Sorrells.
Mrs. Adamson died Tuesday morning, September 25, 1972, in Seven Oaks Nursing Home in Bonham.
Mamie Belle Adamson, wife of the late John Wesley Adamson, who passed away December 27, 1948, was the daughter of the late Gabriel C. Johnstone and Lelia M. Johnstone.
A brother, Walter C. Johnstone died June 9, 1950.
Mrs. Adamson was reared in Honey Grove and attended Potter College in Kentucky. Mrs. Adamson and her husband lived in several different cities, but returned to Honey Grove in 1939 when he retired. He was postal inspector.
She was active in various phases of church work until her health failed. A member of the choir, she also taught and was supervisor in the youth department. Mrs. Adamson was an officer in youth work in the Sherman district for many years.
