Fought as a Private in the Civil War. Company G, 66th Illinois Infantry. He was born about 1843 in Pennsylvania, a farmer. 5'5" tall, light hair, gray eyes. Single. Entered the service at age 18 on 15 Oct 1861, at Dayton, OH by Lt. Longstreth, for 3 years; reinlisted as a Veteran.
