OBITUARY
Margarett Elizabeth Burger, daughter of Mr and Mrs. J. M. Burger, was born in California, MO, January 19, 1857. While a small child she came to Southwest Missouri with her parents. She grew to womanhood in McDonald County. While a girl she was converted and united with the Presbyterian Church. A few years ago she transferred her membership to the Methodist church.
In 1875 she was married to J. R. Brown. To this union five children came to bless the home, only one of whom is living - Otis Brown of Crowder, OK> In 1893, Mr. Brown passed away.
In 1910 she was married to J. E. Shewmake of Wheaton. She passed away at her home in Wheaton Jan. 18, 1934 at the age of 77 years. Those left to mourn her departure are he husband, one son, two ste-daughters, Mrs. Cora McDougal and Mrs. Ollie Evans; five stepchildren by the last marriage, T. L. Shewmake, Henry Shewmake, Mon Shewmake, Mrs. Annie Brown and Mrs. Dora Hughes. She also leaves 13 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; two brothers, George & Jim Burger; three sisters, Mrs. Ava Davidson, Mrs. Josephine Thompson and Miss Anni Burger; and a large number of other relatives and a host of friend.
....Funeral services were held at the Methodist Church inWheaton on Saturday, Jan. 19.... Burial was in the Rocky Comfort Cemetery
