Service for Opal K. Lovejoy Jones, 91, of Arlington will be Sunday, Feb. 8, at 4 p.m. at Hawkins Funeral Chapel in Bridgeport. Jeff Monk will officiate. Burial will follow at West Bridgeport Cemetery.
Jones died Friday, Feb. 6, 2004, in Decatur.
She was born Aug. 31, 1912, in Bridgeport to Frank and Myrtle (Eads) Lovejoy. She was a retired employee of Swift Co. and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bridgeport.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oran O'Dell Jones, and two brothers, Johnny and Clarence Lovejoy.
She is survived by three sons, Kenneth Christerson and wife, Linda, Danny Christerson and wife, Myrtle, and John B. Johnston and wife, Chris; four daughters, Betty Tackel and husband, Roy, Charlene Box and husband, Bob, Dorothy Monk and Tamara Patterson; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one-great-great-grandchild and the Linehan children and grandchildren, whom Jones treated as her own.
Pallbearers will be Chris Tackel, Gregg Monk, Derek Worlow, Eddie Cowley, Cade Hodgkins and Ricky Christerson. Honorary pallbearers will be Donny Hodgkins and Shaun Truex.
