Clara Elizabeth Harold

At 3:32 o'clock Thursday morning, Miss Clara Elizabeth Harold, 52 years of age, died at the home of her sister, Mrs. George Manlove, 17 South West street, death following an illness from which she suffered since Friday. Miss Harold, who since the death of her mother in Kempton, four years ago, had made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Manlove, Mrs. Manlove being her only surviving sister. She was taken ill Friday with uremic poisoning which had pervaded her entire system and heart complications, which were cursed by the poisoning, caused death.
Surviving this splendid woman, are the sister, Mrs. George Manlove; a niece, Miss Lois Manlove, provider of music in the Kempton schools; a sister-in-law, Mrs. Lucille Harold, of Kokomo and son,Aaron Harold; and two nieces, Miss Eugenia Harold and Mrs. Paul Webster, of Frankfort.
Miss Harold was a good Christian woman who 15 years ago united with the Christian church at Kempton and was a devoted member off that faith. Although a woman who stayed close to home, Miss Harold was a loyal true character, whose life was not lived in vain and left as a heritage an example of devotion and loyalty which will endure.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Prairieville church northwest of Tipton at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon, the funeral party leaving Tipton about one o'clock and burial will be in the Prairieville cemetery. Rev. S.M. Lawrence of the Kempton Christian church will conduct the services.
Clara Elizabeth Harold was born in Howard county, 3 miles west of Fairfield, March 6th, 1874, being a daughter of Perry and Rachael (Garner) Harold, pioneer residents of that place. Most of her life, however, was spent in this county, the parents removing to Prairie township when she was a small girl. Both are buried in the Prairieville cemetery. Perry Harold died May 3, 1898, and the mother died in 1923, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Elma Manlove.
