Eavie Smith Roaten, 87, died Friday, December 14, 2012, at Magnolia Regional Health Center. She was born August 27, 1925 to Charles Marion and Cannie Willis Smith.
She retired after 30 years as a Nurse Assistant at Magnolia Regional Health Center. She was a member of Brush Creek Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rev. Willie B. Roaten; and infant son, Sammy K. Roaten; her brother, Arlin Smith; and her sisters Rosie Moses, Lettie Mae Tapp, Nettie Smith, and Elsie Smith.
Survivors include her children, Jean Surratt of Clearwater, FL, Shelby Van Slootern (Chris) of Clearwater, FL, Debbie Hurt (Terry) of Austin, TX, David Roaten of Memphis, TN; her grandchildren, Jennifer Haynes (David), Nikki Tracy (Derek, Wesley Roaten, Taylor Roaten, Josh Hurt, Emily Hill (Drew), Katie Hurt, Keri Roaten;and three great-grandchildren.
Pallbears were Wesley Roaten, Josh Hurt, Shane Huff, Drew Hill, Terry Hurt, and David Haynes.
